By being a victim, I don't mean just being the one who had something bad happen. In that sense, I guess it's unavoidable. What I mean when I say victim, is someone who lets one incident rule or ruin their lives, and lets one person or group of people poison thier view of others and live in fear or hatred. Personally, I've been through some pretty tough times, but I've fought the good fight. I've learned what I had to learn and moved on, holding onto the wisdom I've gained. I won't be held back in life by an experience, and I won't tar others with the same brush (though of course I'll be wary of warning signs if the same thing's likely to happen again).

I have done both. I have had many experiences in my life where I could have let what happen break me but I chose to rise above it and fight the good fight as you so wonderfully put it.There have also been times recently where I am ashamed to say I let myself be the victim, where I should have fought and did not. All in all though I move on from these situations, learning as I do and always trying to fight the good fight, even when it would be easier to lay down and take it

When I was young, my father said I could either lead or follow. I chose to lead. A leader will always fight the good fight, except where the outcome is more costly than the consequences. I learn from my adventures, solve problems, mediate trouble, and strive to manage fairly. I will not be intimidated by bullies, ignorance, parlor tricks, or emotional threats. I also know when to walk away. I have no intention of becoming a victim of any kind. It would be surprising if I did not reverse a bad situation.

I never give up or back down and I do fight as hard as I can especially if I know that the cause is just. I never let someone influence me in a negative manner and there have been times when I had to just move on after giving it all I had to give. I refuse to live in fear no matter what and learn from past mistakes.

I try to fight the good fight. Being a victim -- letting an incident continue to bring you down and interfere with all else just ruins your life. You must get over things, and move on with life--and live it to the fullest as best you can.

If I understand your question then I personally have dealt w/pretty terrible blows in life but I deal w/the situation and try to move on. I do think broad brushing all people is dangerous. Each person has to find the light inside themselves to know the way to go.

I agree, I've been through my share and find the older I get the easier it is to put bad situations into perspective. Trying to find a lesson is not always easy, but it sure comes in handy when facing similiar things down the road.

I waddle in self pity for a minute or two. But, in the end, I get up, dust myself and keep on moving. Victim mentalities keep you from your best life! You must keep trucking ahead and BELIEVE that good things are meant to and will happen in your life, despite the current circumstances.

I used to be a victim, but now I really do fight the good fight...and I'm never looking back, ever.

I fight the good fight. I run the race with the goal in mind, not letting hurdles along the way deter me.
