100 people plus 10 people divided by 100 people = 1.1 or 110%

example B

25 + 4
______ = 29/25 or 1.16 other wise said 116%

remember that the growth is the difference of the new number and the original (always 100%) so in example A the answer is 10% and in example B the answer is 16%

the percent increase is y/x%, the increase (y) divided by the original population (x)

If x=100, and y=20, then:

y/x=20/100=0.2

0.2*100= 20%
