A bullet is only as fast as you can outrun or dodge it. They say you never hear the bang of the bullet that kills you - apparently. I wouldn't know.
A plane is extremely fast. Lets just say you couldn't out pelt it with a speed boat.
Hey, did you see that giant squid they caught the other day? Bliddy huge that was, with eyes as large as dinner plates. Though, apparently not fast enough...

Well there are lots of both. Take aeroplanes, a WWI biplane would take your breath away at ( maybe, downhill with the wind on your tail ) around 120 mph. A state of the art modern interceptor would be running around MACH 3, three times the speed of sound.
There have been faster, try googling 'Northrop Blackbird'
Bullets, too, can be supersonic.
