(1) Generally, you'll get an orange colored light, but the shade and intensity really depends upon the spectral transmission curves of the filters. In principle, you could get a narrow red filter and a narrow yellow filter that nearly keep all light from getting through.

(2) I don't know what answer they want. I'd say its still orange unless the red light source has some narrow frequency range. In that case the light will either be red or if the yellow filter is very narrow it will be nearly black.

(3) If you want to light a white object to look violet, use a violet filter on the lights. If your text assumes that only certain filter colors are available, like red, blue and green, then you'd use some blue and a little red.

(4) To make a yellow object look green, you could use a green filter or a blue filter, depending on the reflectance frequencies of the yellow object and the transmission frequencies of the filters.

A red filter blocks all light except the color red and a yellow filter will only pass yellow, so no light will emerge in 1 and 2.
3) white reflects everything so a a white object will look like the color of light you shine on it. Use violet filter
4)The addition of red and green light looks yellow so a yellow object is absorbing blue, and under blue light it will look black If you remove the red from the incident light the object will look green. A yellow filter???

The only way is to play with clothing colors, different colored shirts can make your eyes a different color. When I wear green people say my eyes are green the same goes with blue and gray. Other than that I do not know any other way.
