They are EVERYWHERE in my house! There the small, red kind. Any tips would be nice.

If I ever leave any food out-- snacks, cereal, baking ingredients-- or in my cupboards and cabinets, ants get into them. Wheter they were closed well or not. Remember that these ants are very SMALL. Any tips on how to prevent this?

Thanks.

I think we have all encountered this problem. When it happens here, I remove everything from the cabinet and wipe it down with an all purpose cleaner. Before I replace things, I put bay leaves in the corners of the cabinet. I also drop them down behind my canisters that sit on the counter, and if you have an old house like I do, I slip a bay leaf into any cracks near the area you see them coming in. When ants reappear, I replace the leaves. I haven't tried the cinnamon thing, but the leaves seem less messy.

I would think that you would prefer keeping them out of your home altogether rather than just killing them once they are in. Every spring I sprinkle the entire outside perimeter of my home with ant-shield pellets ( any kind of diazanon) - you can buy it at a home improvement Lowe's type store. Follow the directions - use as often as necessary.

It may seem bad, but I went through the same situation in my summer house. The answer? Ant sticky traps. We had some and they got stuck to them and died. That was the end of our problem.

#1 Don't leave food out.

#2 Hire an exterminator if it's bad if not try bug sprays that are non-toxic to humans.
