underneath is says 251 mhz?...what does this mean?..is that this clock speed i have been hearing about...how do i get it to go higher if thats the case?

To see your processor running at 1400MHz, click on the AC plug or battery icon near your desktop clock and choose "Always On".

Remember doing this will drain your battery faster. Pentium M - as in mobile type processors are featured to run longer on battery power by stepping up or down the processor speed depending on the need of programs/software.

A Mobility processor is speed steppable. When it is not doing any substantial work, it will run at a lower speed to conserve power (and cut down on heat).

Check the processor speed while it is doing something in the background, like a virus scan and see the difference.

i dunno what properties ur talking about .. it could be the laptop is in a power saving mode ... or that could be the fsb speed ..
