They say I cannot "judge" and I don't. I just say I am against deviant behavior and alternative lifestyles.

Even my POPE expresses his views against immoral behavior.

Okay first of all... and you might want to brace yourself here... but you're not the Pope. The Pope is a highly respected religious leader who is elected by high-ranking officials of the Roman Catholic Church to be a voice on issues of morality and so-forth. You are a bored housewife with way too much time on her hands and a holier-than-thou complex that's bigger than Texas.

Secondly, why are you against peoples rights to live an immoral lifestyle. How exactly does it effect you and your life? Are there people fornicating on your front lawn? Are homosexuals performing fellatio on each other in full view of your children? I don't understand why you think you've been appointed as the moral watch-dog of the nation.

And while we're on the subject of "Religious Freedom" I just have to laugh. Being a Conservative I don't know how you even became familiar with the phrase "Religious Freedom." I think if most Conservatives got their way they'd force Christianity on the entire planet and pass a law dictating that we all had to be straight, clean and in church at least once a week.

You're against deviant behavior and alternative lifestyles? Good for you, and get in line. There are a lot of people out there just like you. But let me ask you a question... do you think gay people are really going to stop being gay because you dislike it and want to voice your opinions on it? How many homosexuals do you think sit around and actually take stock in your opinion?

I'm against pious religious types shoving their morals down everyone else's throats. Are you against me stating that? It's a two-way street and you'd better learn the cold, hard fact that there are many people travelling the opposite direction that you are. You can stand in their way preaching and screaming but chances are they're just going to run you over because they've heard it all before and it's not stopping them.

I'm not against your freedom... I'm just against the blatant ignorance suggested in each and every one of your posts. People like you are why Conservatives get such a bad rap. It's not your belief in morality, it's your insistance on shoving it down everyone else's throats. You wouldn't want a homosexual to force his or her lifestyle on you, why must you force yours on them?

Your Pope also expressed his disgust over the war in Iraq. Christians are told to "love the sinner, hate the sin". Many tend to hate both.

The problem is that because Christianity is the majority religion in America, alternative religions are pushed aside. Not everyone has the same views on morality and "acceptable behavior".

We're not against your right to say it. We just like to practice our right to respond, by telling you what a whiny, annoying, nagging, intolerant, control freak you are. MY religious belief, as well as my own moral code, says your behavior- mouthing off about your religious convictions relentlessly- is out of line. So why do you feel so oppressed when I respond my expressing my religious beliefs? Funny how Christians have a hard time getting beyond your own little world and realizing that it goes both ways.

There was a time, not too long ago, when people felt their "moral convictions" gave them the right to harrass and degrade bi-racial couples in public. I don't see how that's different than the way religious people talk about homosexuals these days.

This "liberal" (what ever that is) is not opposing your right to speech, or your freedom of religion. But I will point out your hypocrisy when you play "Moral Police". Being a Christian you should show compassion and tolerance like Jesus practiced. Instead you lash out like a self-righteous, holier than thou, fire brand. You give your like a bad name. Haven't you ever done anything that requires an apology? What secrets are you hiding? Maybe you are a closet homosexual? Or perhaps an affair, or an alcohol problem? The expression goes, "every time you point a finger there are three more pointing back". I wish you the best of luck.

I respect your opinion to express yourself, but if you and your POPE want Religious Freedom to express yourselves then we need to start charging tax.

If you had a child that was Gay would you humiliate them until they were no longer Gay? No--they could never tell you--they would--have to--live life a lie. Your opinions may have deeply hurt someone close to you that is a closet Gay. You would not do that because you are a Really Lovely Person.

Peace

I am a liberal, and I have what you would probably call an alternative lifestyle. I welcome the expression of your disgust. I respect religious freedom, including yours. I have no problem with you judging me.

All I ask is that you not take the untenable leap and decide that your beliefs and your religion should be translated into the law. You're free to express yourself all day and all night. More power to you. As a civil libertarian, I support you in your expression. Please, call me immoral and a deviant. Just don't deny me my civil liberties, just as I do not deny you yours.

For every action there is a reaction. You can say what you want about whomever you want, but don't expect not to get a reaction. Do you want to be able to say offensive things, but then expect people not to get offended? That is unrealistic. You can say you don't like gay people, and I can say I think what you say is ignorant. Tit for tat.

P.S. There is a difference between judging a whole group of people and judging one persons opinions. MLK said he dreams of a day when people will be judged on the content of their character, not on superficial things.

By the way my grandma is a devout catholic, and her best friend is a gay man. She loves him for who he is, and he is an awesome person. They actually go to church together on Sundays. She believes that if God wants to judge him, God will, but her place is to love him unconditionally, like Jesus would.

Then don't do anything your pope wouldn't want you to do. But not all of us are Catholic nor are we sexually repressed like the Catholic clergy. BTW, I'm against Eugenics too. It's wrong.
And, you do know that Eugenics was promoted by the extreme right wing, not liberals. As a right wing extremist and Nazi, That's why Hitler embrassed it.

I get tired of hearing how holy conservatives are and they are only ones who have belief in religion. Like warping in the flag and claiming how patrotic they are.

I guess there are no gay conservatives do the names Mark Foley and Tim Haggard ring a bell?
