ok i have a lexmark x8350... the driver is not on my pc i have a windows vista, i went to the website to download the driver i did, but once it was installed it said it is an 8300 series... the disk that came with the printer says 8300 serious i installed that too... but its not working i dont know if the 8300 series is equvillant to the x8350 printer, but those are the only drivers i can find, and they dont work... so im confused and lost any ideas?

Sounds like you have a corrupt driver. Go to start, control panel and then printers and other hardware, find your printer and right click it and delete it. Restart your computer and then plug the printer in via the USB cable, the computer will recognize the printer as new and will automatically download new drivers for it and your printer will work as good as new.

Hi. Vista has a few bugs yet to work out. I would wait a week or two and try the Lexmark site again for Vista compatible drivers.

Manufacturer's often do that; refer to a model by the "family" number. So an x8350, x8375, x8390 are all in the 8300 family.

What is it doing (other than not printing)?
