How to break my lease and still get my security deposit back?

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP MY LANDLORD HAS BECOME A SLUMLORD HE CAME TO FIX MY BEDROOM DOOR AND HAS NOT PUT IT BACK ON THE HINGES HE DOES'NT KNOW WHAT MY CORRECT ADDRESS IS (LIVE IN FOUR UNIT APARTMENT) NOW I CAN'T GET MY LIGHTS IN MY NAME FOR THIS REASON AND NOW THERE TRYING TO TURN MY LIGHTS OFF MY BATHROOM SINK IS BROKE MY NEIGHBOR'S ALWAYS CALL THE POLICE BECAUSE I HAVE 3 LITTLE KIDS AND I JUST FOUND OUT I LIVE UPSTAIRS FROM A OLDER LADY AND A CRACK HEAD AND IN FRONT OF AN ALCOHOLIC I HAVE BEEN CALLING THE LANDLORD EVERYDAY SINCE FEBUARY 10TH NO CALL BACK OR NOTHING SO I HAD MY MOTHER CALL CUZ I KNOW HE DID'NT KNOW THE NUMBER HE ANSWERED SAID HE WAS COMING AND NEVER SHOWED UP HAD HER CALL AGAIN NOW THERES NO ANSWER WHAT CAN I DO SOMONE PLEASE HELP

just let everyone who think i'm the bad person here i'm not living off the landlord the light co said that the address i gave them off my lease is already in someone else name ( i have good credit)The poeple that live behind me have the same adress on there lease also the light co said they cant fix the problem until i or them contact the landlord and my door is important enough to call the landlord everyday because my kids are 2,3,and4 and i just have a door sitting in my dinning room

I was all set to answer this because I was a property manager for 8 years and had some tips. However, when you type in all caps and blame your landlord for stupid stuff that has nothing to do with him--like being unable to get the utilities in your name which I suspect has a lot more to do with your previous credit history and not the address of the premises...well...

A broken interior door knob is not an emergency or a reason to break a lease. Maybe he will just evict you because you seem to be harassing him on a daily basis and now have another relative doing the same. GROW UP.

WOW..You don't know your address..what is that..Your suppose to call to have your utilities in your name...So if I read this right,your living in a apartment with utilities in landlord's name still..Thats without doubt reason for evection...Good luck,you might wanna re-evaluate your position..

It is against the law to be a slum lord ...move out but before u do take pictures of all the probs in the apt...if he doesnt give u your deposit back threaten to take him to court. He can get in trouble.
