we always hear about who the greatest players were who never won the cup, but what about the greatest players who never even got a chance ot play for it?

I'll go with Marcel Dionne who had a ton of points but never played on a team with any decent depth or Goaltending. I also highly considered Dave Taylor and Borje Salming who had better all-around games than Dionne did.

I'd have to agree with either Sittler or Dionne. How about a goaltender like Curtis Joseph?

Mike Gartner. He had a shot if the Rangers hadn't traded him to Toronto in the 93-94 season. A Hall of Famer with 700+ goals and more than 10 consecutive seasons scoring 30 or more goals has got to be the greatest player to never play in the finals.

Um Ryan Smyth DID play in the Cup finals against Caolina in 2006

I would Say. probably Sidney Crosby but that could change shortly.
