why the americans never go alone to have lunch in "X" place? You always see at least 2 persons having lunch together. what's the big deal. Is it a habit from the high school and middle school in which all the students ate only in the table of their group of friends.

eating together is one of the ways we bond. over food, your relaxing and get to really discuss whats on your mind. yes, you can do that at other times and places, but if a friend or family member is available, why not take advantage of the time you have to spend with them.

Eating is one of the best opportunities to relax and to get to know others. People are so busy these days it is important to take every opporutnity to get to meet people in a happy atmosphere and enjoy good food and good converstion before going back into the rat race. I'm in Australia and people would rather eat with others than alone.

I meet with friends for lunch; usally one at a time but once or twice a week. Life gets busy and we grow up; having lunch together helps people keep friendships and to have something outside of work and home. I love meeting up with my friends during the week. It gives us a chance to talk about our faith. families and memories

Don't you think it's kind of sad to eat alone? Personally, I like to eat with family or friends. In our country, most of us work long hours and lunch is one time where we get to chat, laugh and blow off a little steam. I don't see the harm myself.
