I'm in the running for being the 'Miss' of my school. If i make it to the top 5 i have to give a short speech on something important to me. Any advise on how to properly write this speech?

Whatever they ask you to write a speech on, think about the topic. Think of good points that will get any audience attention. Don't speak in first person too much, and don't use the word "I" too much. Make sure your speech would make a lasting impression, and it helps if you share it with Family and friends and see how they feel. Ask for their advise as well. Because how they feel, your audience may feel the same way.

You have to be COMPLETELY honest as to why you wanted to join. Anything other than that will make you look fake and phoney. You could add to the ending.........."and world peace" just like in the movie, "Miss Congeniality" with Sandra Bullock. That may get a few chuckles! Make 'em laugh, girl!

take something that is important to u and give all the reasons why it is important to have that thing, if you are not sure use pageants- say it gives girls confidence ect.!

well a beauty pageant is just a popularity contest so talk about something that everyone agrees with.

write about your family. talk about how they supported you all the way. and their the reason for you being there. they believed in you and were your own little cheering section. you love them and are grateful for them.
things like this always wow the judges. ;)
