Where did this idea come from? I thought that they didn't worship anything. I'm not an atheist, but I am curious to know why so many people believe this. Thanks for your answers.

Ignorance.....same reason that we can't all just get along....I believe Jesus was way cool - not quite sure that he was/is (gods) only child and all that - but he was wise and he did live on this earth (we know this because he paid his taxes like everyone else and the Romans kept very good records !!!) But everyone calls me a christian - but I keep my heart/mind/eyes open to all faiths (some more than others) in order to see/know the truth. It is not as easy as it sounds to "walk a mile in anothers' shoes" or to "remove the plank from your own eye , before you attempt to remove the splinter from your neighbors eye" ...(Judge not least you be judged)........

Because those people have the same answer for everyone who disagrees with them. If you do not agree with them, you worship Satan. It makes their life much simpler...instead of thinking, they just point their fingers and shout "Satan worshipper!"

do people really believe in a god that you cant see that controls everything with angles and this magical place called heaven if your good and a bad place called hell with a devil...sounds like fairy tale lol most people are just blind faith followers like sheep, just live your life and do the right thing. peace

They are not "satan worshipers" -- they don't believe God exists. However, that doesn't mean they don't have faith in something... they have faith in themselves. They basically put themselves first instead of God.
