Where do you start when you want to cosplay for example Im thinking about cosplaying as Sephiroth (And may he live on for enternity...Amen) I have never cosplayed before so what would you suggest I do first?
Also do you have an idea on how much it may cost to cosplay as Sephiroth (you know with buying all the stuff) I know theres many different ways and stuff but take a good guess on what it may cost

I would recommend checking out the forums over at http://www.cosplay.com, people there are quite helpful.
They will probably be familiar with the character in question, which is a big plus :)

I've never actually cosplayed, but my brother's girlfriend does it quite a bit. She does a sketch first of the clothing she is going to wear. So sketching clothing would probably be the first step in order to know what dimensions you need for cloth. Know what colors you need, etc etc. Then when that happens, buy the cloth, sow, stitch, do whatever you have to do to get the sketch completed, and then do your hair, etc etc. I'm not too sure how much it costs, but I know it's not that cheap.
