In labs, bacterial cultures are created in agar solutions in petri dishes, then covered and placed in an incubator. This provides the necessary ingredients for the culture to grow in perfect isolation from other cultures. Each galaxy in the universe has similar conditions. I wonder if this is a universal experiment with each galaxy containing different cultures. Sometimes galaxies collide, but then again, sometimes the lab tech mixes cultures as well. I also find it interesting that each galaxy has not only a giant central mixer in the form of a black hole, but that each black hole collects all the information contained within a galaxy.

Listen people. In a lab the size of the universe not all things are equal. This is a given. However, what sense would it make to keep repeating the same experiment? So there's different types of galaxies. Great!! Even greater outcomes. It's just a thought anyway.

Interesting thought. Galaxies and petri dishes, all evolve. String theory compares the macrocosmic with the microcosmic and states that for all the physical properties of our universe, a reciprocal universe would have the same properties. If our universe is 28billion light years in diameter, for example, a universe that is 1/28 billion light years in diameter would have the same properties. So, if we can even speculate that, then any similarities with petri dishes may be taken in stride. However, there is a world of difference between "same thing" and "similar."

I love theoretical astronomy. We're just an alien ant farm. Good point. What is great about this day and age is we are breaking the limit between science fiction and science fact. It's a great time to be alive! other than the war on terror, and the enviroment crumbling, and so on. I guess it's pretty cool to be a spot in a petri dish.

Similar conditions?
I believe our group of Galaxies is form of two spiral type galaxies, Andromeda and the Milky Way, and other small non spirals groups. The ingredients maybe are similar but the constitution and the conditions are very different.

...interesting theory, i wudn't think so personally, but then again, nearly everyone has there own sort of theorys about such things.

Personally, i think the universe is a sphere, it wud match with everything else since, small things such as atoms are sphereical shapes and big things like planets too... :)

Whoa!
So all galaxies are the same?
You need to research your theory a bit more.
lol
But it is still a nice idea.

perhaps, after all it would be ironic and the universe tends to move towards a higher state of irony and entropy :)
