The three films are describable with two words-- stunning and delicate. The first word is obvious, but they are "delicate" in the sense that they handle the stories gently, and handle the audience with love. We are respected as Homer might have respected his audience when he first recited The Odyssey, and I come away from the films feeling as though I've been entrusted with a tale of such marvel that it wouldn't have been told to me except I was deserving of it. Sound corny, I know, but I felt similar after being given the Wiccan theory of the God and Goddess by a well-known Druidic priest. It's a story that everyone should be told, but to hear it makes you feel somehow special for having heard it from a gifted teacher.

I've never seen a series like this. A trilogy of movies created with such love and care and utter perfection of craft that you can't help but walk away and wonder how did Peter Jackson make this possible? I have always loved the original "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" series for their epic storytelling, and just for just fitting in as a great moment in cinema. This should be, will be, remembered with as much revered fondness for generations to come. They do not make films like these anymore.

I loved it. I thought they were better done than Star Wars. And doing them on location rather than in the studio made it all the more realistic.

i liked the movie. though there were a lot of changes from the book, the story still stood in its own.. in a way that you can still understand the story.
