I have a labrador retriever and he is constantly twitching his paws and his lips move too. I would like to know what he is thinking.

I watch my dogs too and they dream while they lie sleeping by your feet as you work or study day or night.
I have noticed running dreams- their paws are excitedly twitching like they are running.
They have exploring dreams. They move their heads around and twitch at unknown smells as if in a hunting mode.
They have fighting dreams- growling menacingly , deep rumbles only of course.
They have sad dreams and they whimper and cry sadly.
Cant tell you what they are but when you hug them as they do the crying dreams and hush them like you would comfort a child, they stop it right away and sleep on.
Next thing you hear is a regular snore.

Open fields
Cats to chase
Lots of toys
Lots of food
Big chew bones
Being around their master all the time

my dog sleep barks twitches and snores they probally think about eating sleeping and going to the bathroom becuase thats all they do or maby they dream that they have accsess to human food lol

I have a black lab too!!!!! i doubt that you can find out what he is thinking. Some things are just not meant for ppl to know. Who cares by the way.

my lab does the same thing and yelps. I just know he is dreaming of all the mischief he does during the day

he might be dreaming that he is chasing a treat...
my puppy was barking and moving his legs in a running position, and I found out he was dreaming about him running in the snow with me.

probably just dreaming about things like chasing cats, female dogs, playing ball, etc. :)
