most laptops today come with 2 monitor ports, one should be a standard connector (has 3 rows of pins or holes) and an s-video connector (round, around 6 small pins and one larger guide hole.)

You should be able to run another 2 monitors from your laptop right out of the box.

they make a USB to VGA adapter, i think its like $80 or so

but the best option would be:

like some one else said, if you have one video card right now (not built onto the mother board) you can replace that with a video card that supports dual monitors.

that would work the best if this is a desktop, if this is a laptop or the video card is built in to the mother moard then I would go with the USB adapter

another thing to think about is if you have a USB card and/or a fire wire card and/or other cards that you can get combo cards that do fire wire and USB, or serial and parallel and there are many of them out there

if you need more help or info drop me an email or IM, its all in my info page

Is your video built-in to the motherboard or is it an expansion card? If an expansion card, you can replace it with a dual-head video card. Beyond that, you'll be able to get a video "splitter" but that only duplicates the main display, it doesn't allow them to work independantly.

since you only have one usb slot, Targus makes a device that uses the usb slot and then you can hook up like another printer or whatever to the device. you can probably connect another monitor to it.
