If you're using windows, use wordpad. It lets you doublespace and comes with the OS.
If you're using a Unix backed OS (Current Mac's, or Linux) and it is a text file you can use sed
cat filename |sed -e "s/\n/\n\n/" > filename
(This converts every space into two spaces.)

I think if you have microsoft works you would do something similar as you would if you had ms word. You would go to format...and then paragraph and i think it says something about spacing...if you dont have that or you just have word pad...i would just press enter twice even though thats a lot of work...but it depends on what program you are using

i am pretty sure you can highlight your text and then hit CTRL and the #2 at the same time.
