Ok I bought a Handy stitch. I want to know how to use it I have never used a sewing machine. I have threaded it the way it asked I put the cloth beneath the fastening plate. I started to so and it was a long stitch. However on the bottom the thread is in tiny loops and when I slightly pulled the cloth apart it came apart. I feel like I have to tie it in some way but I’m not sure. Any help?

Isn't the Handy stitch the machine that looks kind of like scissors? The "as seen of TV" ones? Like this: http://seenontvwebstore.com/product_info.php/products_id/195?osCsid=1546e614d65340d1a08c0f7f3f6bb11a

If that's what you're working with I don't think there is a lot you can do. If the underside of the fabric has threads that are just loops it sounds like the lower thread (what would be called the bobbin thread on a large machine) either isn't in or isn't catching. On a larger machine you use a spool of thread that goes through the needle and a bobbin of thread that catches it from underneath. I'd say re-thread the bobbin, change the needle and try cleaning the machine.

Now if there was a thread through the loops that fell out when you pulled it apart then the tension somewhere is off and you could look for a place to make it tighter.

it sounds like you need to adjust your tension on your machine. I am not familiar with your machine but you can find out how to do that in the book that came with it.
