A charlie horse in the leg. If you're standing when it happens, you will drop to the ground like someone took your legs away.

Physical pain was when I had my big toe torn off when I had put it in under the back of a car seat that was lifted to allow me to get inand the person in the front seat put the back-back and didn't know my toe was in it and everyone was yelling cuz we just finished walking a walk-a-thon for MD so I had to pull my foot out and the toenail was ripped off!!! OWWWW! It hurts to talk about it and that was 30+ yrs. ago! Mentally was when my son was sent to prison and I had no idea of where he was going or what he would have to deal with- my heart broke that day and it hasn't ever mended completely yet!

I have had broken ankles, broken ribs, collapsed lungs, lacerations of all sorts. Crushed fingers, smashed toes. But the most excruciating pain I ever had was a knee injury. That was the most intense, sharp pain, which immobilized me completely for several minutes. I was breathless. I could do nothing but grab my knee. Torn cartilage and ligaments. Re-injured it over 13 more times in the next three years. Knee would swell up like a balloon. Finally had it fixed.

Emotionally I have not had as severe a pain. There was one girl I loved, but was never in the right place at the right time. She ended up with another. When that was done, I missed again. She wasn't one to wait around. I am still close friends with her, and even her husband. But since I never totally had her for myself, I have just dealt with it.

The soreness that I felt when I had to have reconstructive surgical technique on my left arm because of the fact I decrease 3 of the tendons. i'm against putting narcotics into my physique so I refused all soreness killers. I under no circumstances felt soreness like that earlier...

Labor pains for a 9 lb 1 oz baby with a 16.5" circumference head who was coming out sideways. I defy any man to endure that for 17 hours. They finally took pity on me and gave me a c-section. I'll take abdominal surgery over a baby stuck in my pelvis any day!

The mental pain came 3 months later when my mother died just 2 wks after turning 57.

Mental: When my best friend committed suicide.
Physical: When I dislocated my shoulder and it had to stay they way for 5 hours before they could/would put it back into place. Believe me. I've had 3 kids, 2 by c-section and that was a walk in the park compared to the pain of my dislocated shoulder.

Mentally when My parents died before I reached the age of 16, I cam down to san diego to live with a relitive I hardly knew who was verbally abusive.
Im still in angish at age 28. I dont have a dad to walk me down the isle when I get married now and I cry everytime I think about it. My kids wont know my parents, and I had to work so hard to get where I am now... You never know what you have until you loose it, cherish everyday with the ones you love.

i got bit by a spider once and it was the strangest feeling. i didn' know that it was a spider bite at first...i broke out in hives all over and couldn't breathe well. had to go to the ER. it wasn't necessarily a pain like a broken bone, but it was painful and uncomfortable and scary; it was an experience i'd never want to go through again. i'll take a broken bone over that.

oh, and one time when i was sick, pressure built up in my ears and one of my eardrums busted. it was so painful i couldn't even call my mom from the other room to come into my room.

and food poisoning (real food poisoning) feels like you're digesting knives.

i would have to say that giving birth to my second daughter was the worst pain that I have ever felt. she was 9 lbs - I didnt have any drugs, I was induced because she was almost a month overdue, I had all back labor and delivered in two hours. she broke my tailbone, and shifted my bottom four vertebrae and hip out of place. it took me two weeks to be able to walk again needless to say - i will not be having any more children

It was either the gallbladder attack or the bout with shingles or having my large toe ran over by 4 tons & then the nail ripped out, maybe passing that kidney stone... can't make up my mind.

Mental - huhm - maybe when my dad died right before my 30th birthday and my doctor forbade me to go to the funeral because of a contagious disease I had. The doc changed his mind hours before the funeral.
