My Grandfather always said to get 8 hours of sleep, 8 hours of work, and 8 hours of play in a day. And do everything in moderation. He is 87 years old and as active as ever... Good Advice

It's hard to pick just one piece of wisdom.
The funniest one I heard was one of my dad's former bosses sat him down one day and said "Shelby, I'm going to tell you the secret to making it in this business." My dad listened very intently because this guy had been on the job a lot longer than he had. Then he said, "Steal something every d*** day." It turned out he took quite a lot of stuff although my dad never did. While I certainly dont recommend theft, taking time out for humor is always good. That being said, here's what gets me through the week. Never take your work home with you, and try not to worry about stuff too far into the future. Focus on the present.

That I am powerless over people, places, and things. I only have power over what I choose to say and do. That really hit me cause I am or I was a control freak.
Also, I tell this one to my clients all the time.
You don't drown by falling in a puddle you drown by staying there.

When I was a young teenager, my dad told me that it didn't matter how pretty I was if when I opened my mouth I wasn't
smart or kind. It made me turn from being a shallow girl to someone who wanted to live a worthwhile life. I miss my dad SO MUCH!

(I asked this very same question a while ago!) Hmmm don't know, I guess..
"Anyone who says money can't buy happiness doesn't know where to shop"
"The more I know people, the more I love my dog" or something like that.
"you'll understand when you are older" - so many things I thought I knew or understood and I really didn't.
Oh and...
