What do you mean by a "contraption"?? You can build lots of things out of household supplies, but that covers a lot of territory!

If you're thinking of a "Rube Goldberg contraption" or machine, that's more specific... in that case, I'm sure there are many places online with some ideas**, but here's one that was put together by some guys overnight from only the supplies they had on hand at their offices:

fly trap: clear contact paper cut in strips..or you can use clear packing tape as well..and then post where flies are..they will stick to them...and that will be the end of them! until more arive..lol...might also work for mosquito's..if you put near a light..that attracts them..moths also....
