lol i have done it... Women usually open their mouths when they put on mascara because it opens up your eyes more which is what they are trying to do in order to put the mascara on.

You havent watched too many women put mascara on. The most favorite facial contortion is stretching the nose (if you can imagine that) ,making googly eyes and blinking while stretching out your eyes as big as they can get. As for opening the mouth, some do that but most dont.

Some women do this others don't. Allot of people think this is a silly thing. But it actually serves a purpose. Opening the mouth while applying eye makeup actually helps you keep the eyes relaxed and not blink.

When women open their mouths they are stretching their face. This is better for applying mascara or shadow. Women can apply it without opening their mouth but it makes it easier.

I always Put on my eyeliner/Mascara with my mouth closed. And I too think its weird that other girls cant do it. When I met my husband he used to praise me because I would do it with my mouth closed, I never really noticed until then.

Maybe because it is a natural reaction. When you open and stretch your eyes real wide it makes your mouth do that.

I can. I didn't ever see the point in opening the mouth.

I am not sure. My mouth automatically opens when I am doing my eyes. It just happens. Does it bother you?

because it feels like our face is wide open [strecheddown] to not making mistakes ,thats why our jaws drop to put on make-up that we don't want smudged [I think thats why I do it]

It lets their eyes get narrower so they can apply it better i think
