I am a lesbian and also a Christian. I have not experienced hatred or discrimination so much in my particular denomination of Christianity, but it hasn't been accepted, either. Can Christianity and homosexuality coexist? Just looking for opinions, here.

Like a lot of people have already said, yep they can coexist and even accept lesbians. Episcopals are welcoming of LGBT people. And the Metropolitan Community Church is a denomination created specifically for the LGBT community and their allies.

There's others, too, but I'll leave talking about those to people who know more about them.

God Bless!

i've got confidence so :) i think of the subject concerns initiate whilst human beings mistake God and the Church for being a similar subject. it is extremely basic to mistake the two because of the fact a similar subject thinking they're so closly suitable yet there is an extremely different difference between the two. I could admit that for the period of my opinion i don't understand if there's a God or not. I have no data or data to assert there is or isn't a God yet what i comprehend and have confidence in my coronary heart is that if there's a God that he loves anybody even with who you're or what you're. The Church on the different hand claims to be coaching the word of God. that's truthful sufficient in my view in the event that they have confidence they're doing so yet modern-day data that I certainly have come throughout the time of slams on the brakes of the who Chritianity/Homosexuality debate. I certainly have stumbled on that the church did not use the word "gay" till the mid 1800's so realistically questioning this transformation into hundreds of years after the bible have been written so if the church replace into not conscious that homosexuality existed returned returned in the previous the 1800's how ought to the human beings interior the bible comprehend its existance? sure that's actual that gay acts have been straight forward in historic greece and rom yet returned then and by using bibical circumstances it replace into believed that every person replace into heterosexual! So any references to gay behaviour interior the bible replace into seen as behaviour committed by skill of "quickly" human beings which might certainly be an "abomination" to the sexual way of existence to heterosexuals! i comprehend all this is incredibly heavy whether that's clever once you think of roughly it. and that i'm not saying which you would be able to have confidence it yet all i'm asking is which you think of roughly it and view it :) anyhow, i desire this facilitates and that i prefer you the very desirable of excellent fortune :)

Of course. I'm a Christian lesbian, myself. My dad is a retired United Methodist pastor. Before he retired he took a VERY gay-friendly stance at our church which caused many people to leave. However, many more people came to our church because of his stance. He even got to baptize a baby of a lesbian couple!

Here's a resource for ya: http://www.cloutsisters.org/home/

I found out about this group at this year's National Gay and Lesbian Task Force conference.

Of course it can. You can believe in the ideas of Christianity and believe in God and still be attracted to people of the same sex.

It is not the fault of that religion. It is the fault of certain people who think Christianity is against homosexuality and for taking action against it.
Hopefully in the future people will be more open-minded though.

Well, I sappose that they can, but I would think that is hypocritical. Just as it would be to be having an affair and being a christian, or being a witch and calling yourself a Christian as well. It is hypocritical because it is a sin against God's Will.

well it DOES say in the bible that if a man sleeps with a man as if he were a woman he should be taken out and stoned. that most defiantly implies the same with reversed genders. I'd recommend avoiding a real big knot on your head

Christianity is more about accepting Christ as our savior.

But to please your God, you can put effort into not being lesbian. God will be patient with you, so don't think anyone hates you (unless it's mean people).
