A youth organization raised $15,336 by selling gift baskets. Five different teams sold the baskets. Martin's team sold 48 baskets, Amy's team sold 138 baskets, Sharon's team sold 77 baskets, Juan's team sold 250 baskets, and Dee's team sold 126 baskets.

Each gift basket was the same price. What was the price of one gift basket?

If you add all the baskets up from each team, you will get the total number of baskets sold. Divide $15,336 by the total number of baskets to get the price per basket.

Hope this helps!

This is easy. First you should add up all the baskets they sold. Because they are all the same price. So add:

48+138+77+250+126= 639

Now that is the number of baskets sold all together.
Second step is to divide the number of baskets sold by the amount raised. So now you have:

15336/639

Divide and your ANSWER should be 24.

Hope I helped.

First add all of the number of baskets together, (since they all cost the same). multiply this number by 'x' x= the cost of each basket. then you get 639x, then this equals how much they totally got, 15336, therefore, 639x=15336. Then solve for x by divided 639 by 639x and 639 divided by 15336. x equals 24, so each basket cost 24 dollars.

add the total number of baskets, then take the total price and divide it by your new number.
($ raised divided by # of baskets is equal to 1 basket)
asking someone for more is just lazy; hopefully you asked only because you were unsure HOW to do the problem

well here it is, as simple as it gets....

........ 48
........138
........77
........250
........126
+_________
.........639 baskets total

total dollar amount divided by the number of baskets will get you the cost per basket.... so,

........._$24_____
...639) $15,336
............-$2,556
............ _______
............$12,780
...........-$12,780
...........________
.....................$0
