The guy walks in with a starter that has solenoid on top. They tell him his problem is not the starter, it is the solenoid. The one they show him leaving with is not the one that goes on the starter. It is one that fastens to the fender.

that's autozone taking creative license to illustrate it was a different part for those who aren't that smart at mechanics

but the other guy is right and ford has never abandoned the remote starter solenoid.. it can be found on 2007 vehicles (you have one of the starter and one either on one of the walls of the engine compartment or in the fuse box..go figure)

Actually, some Fords use both...the one on the fender is the one connected to the ignition switch, the one on the starter is the "engaging" solenoid.

Design engineers, sometimes they really amaze ya, huh...

lol you too see this, they think we dont see thing on tv, lol , but yes i see it,,but on some ford they carry 2 solenoid,

I never saw that commercial... but it figures.... it would happen in real life and the poor sap wouldn't know any better.
