I looked it up on the internet and all i see is how music is good for pre-k kids..but i need something for how is it good for teen agers who just started studying music. So far I have that it is like an anti-drug, can you please give me 3 more good reasons? Provide a link if you can too. Thanx.

im a teen and i started playing piano on my own just because there was one in my house. so in about 2 years i started writing music and now i have about 10 songs. i play rock concerts at school and i now have a band. i dont drink and i dont do drugs. and i sometimes write songs about things that bother me instead of doing something stupid to make the feeling go away

oh and i do really well in school.

ok, these facts were on the back of a pamphlet from my band concert.
1) teens who play instruments get significantly better grades
2) are more likely to be accepted into colleges
3) are less likely to do bad things

teenagers go through hard times, such as puberty, humiliation, and self confidence.
i think its good for teen agers bcause it keeps them busy and gives them a hobby that they can put to good use later on.
they could also make cash off of it.
plus if they get good at playing it can really build confidence and may be even help their social skill.

From experience, music helped me concentrate and set goals in high school. I was very involved in the orchestra, and very focused when I was playing music. I also met some of my best friends through orchestra.

playing an instrument helps teenagers express how they are feeling ,something that maybe hard for them to talk about.

its a great way to let yourself go without causing trouble that's if your mom don't yell at you for playing to loud lol,,,,,,it also improves discipline it does take it to learn and play well...
