1st. I don't know how it happened but a while back my p.c. was infected with adware pop-ups. I have tried to get rid of it and nothing has worked. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

2nd. This computer is an old computer, I have a new cd-rom and cd-rw in it. I was wondering, can I add a new motherboard into the old pc tower, or would I have to buy a new tower?

3rd. Lastly, if I am able to update the old tower with a new motherboard, would updating the motherboard, hard-drive, and memory take away the adware?

Thank you in advance.

use avg antispyware .... no ...and no .... however updating the motherboard is really pointless unless u get new memory and processor also ... might as well build a new box ... and the spyware is on ur harddrive so either remove it with an antispyware app like avg or adaware or reformat and load ur operating system fresh ..

1st - Backup your data to a CD-RW and do a clean install of the operating system--including a format of the drive.

2nd - A new mobo will fit into the old case if it's an ATX case and an ATX mobo--the same form factor. Although older cases have smaller power supplies than the new cases do. If its an old case, the power supply may need to be replaced prior to the upgrading.

3rd- of course a new hard drive would take care of any adware, viruses that you now have.

if you have xp try superantispyware. or avg antispyware preferably both then go get adaware and spybot run them one at a time then think about upgrading last or doing a complete format and instal
