AC in your home because the electricity in your house is AC and it really doesn't matter for things like light bulb filaments or toasters (both run on basically the same idea).

DC in your car. This is the type of current stored in your battery and induced by your alternator.

DC in a battery powered light. AC in most all the others - room lights and so forth. It's possible that indicator lights on some electronic products might be DC.
