I'm out of toilet cleaner and all I have left in the house are very mild cleaners. My toilet needs cleaning and I'm kinda broke. What can I use to clean the toilet? Can I use hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol or vinegar? Do any of them kill germs?

I should add that the toilet is not super dirty, there's no rings of filth or anything. I cleaned it last week, but since I have a toddler in the house, I like to keep it as clean as possible.

I don't have any bleach in the house since I'm highly allergic to it.

Pour white vinegar into the toilet and let sit for a while. Then if you have either baking soda or salt, put on a scrubber and scrub. Keep in mind that the baking soda will foam up a bit if comes in contact with the vinegar. This is normal. The vinegar will break down any hard water accumulations and stains while it sits in the bowl. I would leave it sit for at least 20 mins before you start scrubbing.

Anything that cleans will work well in place of toilet cleaner, especially if it is not heavily soiled. Automatic dishwashing detergent would work the best. Since it is a disenfectant and does contain a small amount of bleaching agent. Windex would even work. You could even take a lemon, slice it in half and rub it inside the bowl.

Sprinkle some comet or laundry detergent or dish detergent in the bowl and swirl around with toilet brush. It cleans just as well as toilet cleaners.. Also f you have dentures throw a couple tablets in the toilet bowl, let then fizz and swirl the toilet brush around.

Do you have dishwasher detergent? Most of them have some bleach in them and the powered kind will act as an abrasive. Alcohol would be OK to do the seat but if you dump it in the toilet it will be too dilute to do anything.

Rubbing alcohol will kill germs but not clean toilet. If you have baking soda, it will work like cleanser as an abrasive. Also, if you can spare it, try laundry detergent.

Just don't mix all those household products together; they produce a toxic gas. Use bleach and swish it around the inside of the toilet bowl. Let stand half an hour, then flush.

take a little salt and put it on a damp rag and scrub the toilet. then to kill the germs, put some rubbing alcohol on a piece of cotton or paper towel and wipe where you just cleaned.
