I need to do this for a class but I forgot how todo it on my calculator... I was just wondering if anyone knew? or knew how to calculate it?

pH = -log[H+]

-log[.001]

-(-3)
pH = 3

You got it right!

pH is the negative of the log of the H+ ion concentration, in mols/liter.

HCl is a strong acid, so it totally dissociates into H+ and Cl- ions at dilute concentrations. Therefore the concentration of H+ ions is 0.001 mols/L. The log of this is -3, and the pH is 3.

take the negative log of 0.001
