In a manual you have a gearbox, which takes 80/90 weight gear oil. You dont have to check it often and most manufacturers require you to change the gear oil every 50,000 miles. The drain and fill plug will be on the transmission itself, so you will have to go under the car to drain and fill it.

On the transmission there is two plugs on drivers side of the car the lower one is for draining the trans fluid and the one right above that is for adding fluid. If you stick your baby finger in the hole and bend it at the first knuckle and you feel fluid then it is full. The plugs will take a 1/2 or 9/16 wrench to loosen them.
I hope this helps you out.

There is a fill plug on the side of the transmission. Ford does recommend the use of dextron transmission fluid in its manual transmissions, not 80w 90 gear oil.

Wheel in the engine bay if there is a dip stick tube with a dip stick to check the fluid you can ad it in that tube using a small funnel. If not then the car would have to be lifted equally on both sides and then there should be a plug on either side of the transmission itself. If not then check the top side of the tranny for a rubber plug...... Make sure you can feel fluid inside of the opening you choose so you don't dump gear lube on your clutch instead of gears.....
Good Luck!!!
