I need to make a display board for my Science Fair project. I need to type and Abstract for my project and I have no idea what an Abstract is. Can somone help me or tell me what an Abstract is? I have another question, whats the difference between Results and Data? Please help me. Thanks. ♥

data is the information collected during the project or experiment...the information learned. The results are the outcome derrived from that information. You might try growing plants with less light. The information would be how much light each plant recieved. The results would be that without sunlight, plants don't grow.

A formal science report is a very easy, yet procedural report to write. Imagine the "Abstract" as the summary of what you intend to do. This is a couple of paragraphs describing your hypothesis, what you are looking to solve, etc.

Next is your "Protocols or Materials/Procedures", this will list the equipment, materials necessary to duplicate your experiment. Next you should list your experiment step by step.

It seems the Science Fair wants to see both your Data and Results. Data is raw facts and figures where Results contain more text and explanations.

Finally, you need a "Summary/Conclusions" where you delve into the relative success of your experiment in proving your hypothesis
