Ok, I work from 8:00AM-5:00PM five days a week. I have to work these many hours so that I can pay my bills. Currently, I'm at a community college and hoping to transfer to a University in approximately one year.

How am I suppose to join school clubs if I work full time? From what I've been told, I need to sign up for school clubs so that this makes me come across as a well-rounded student.

Advice? Would my situation in a letter to the University that I'm applying to? Do they even care?

After work, I go to school from 7pm-10pm. Literally no opportunity.

Since you work full time, your lack of participation in school clubs will make no difference in terms of transfer admissions to any university.

However, the university will want to know how you plan to make the transition from part time student to full time student. It's very different. I'd make sure to address that in your transfer application.

Best wishes to you!

I think your hunch that a letter explaining the situation should be helpful is correct. Well-rounded also includes having experieence with full-time work. Also, if you have hobbies you pursue over the weekend, you could mention those.

I suspect one thing that will be of interest to them is t oknow that you will be able to commit to univ life fully. You may need to think about taking out some loans and not working so much if you want to make the most of college. I know that's much easier said than done, but it's something to consider.
