I think he's one of the top 5 players in the league and maybe even the best all-around player but he doesn't get that sort of recognition from the idiot fans who look more at a players' street image than actual basketball skills. Check out his stats and tell me what you think.

18.3 PPG, 51.6% FG, 80.5% FT, 1.2 3PT, 10.4 REB, 2.2 STL, 1.5 BLK, and only 1.5 turnover per game.

I dont think any other player in the league can match that.

Shawn Marion is also an exceptional athlete one of the best in the NBA so the argument that he's just a complementary player does not fly with me. Guys like Bruce Bowen and Shane Battier are complementary players because they just don't have the talent to be a superstar. Shawn Marion does have that talent and the only reason he doesn't get recognition is because he doesn't take all the shots for his team like overrated players like Tracy McGrady and Carmelo Anthony do. So I agree with you that he is a top 5 player and agruably the best in the NBA.

Shawn Marion is underrated. But that's just what he is, a stat machine (which is not a bad thing in this case). He doesn't do a whole lot else, plus he gets half his points from speeding down the court after a miss for a dunk or on a circus pass from Steve Nash. He is a terrific player, but he's more of a complementary player, not a superstar. I think to sum it up, he's the best role player in the league.

I'm sick of this racist crap! Nash doesn't make sh!t better! Before Nash, Shawn Marion was a all-star(2003), he was still averaging 19 point a game, and he still averaged a double double! If anything, Marion and the other brothers makes Nash better! Check Nash's stats with Dallas in 04, less points & less assist! That bumb Nash averaged like 7 assist a game! But when he got with all them brothers his assist went up to 11 assist per game. If it wasn't for them brothers to have the TALENT to be the finishers they are Nash wouldn't have as many assist! Just check Nash's 04 Dallas stats and then compare them to his stats when he with the Suns, then you'll clearly see that those brothers are making Nash better! BLACK POWER!

Steve Nash makes Marion the player he is. Before Nash became his teammate, Marion had average numbers..... Top 5 players lead their teams to victory. When Nash is out with injury Marion can't lead them to victory. In fact without Nash the Suns struggle to beat the bad teams..

Pound for pound (matched by stats), he is the most complete player in the NBA. A true modern day Oscar Robertson.

Very, very underrated.
