I think he did, but the road runner found a way to clone himself, that's why it looks like he never does

he did in the one episode but the road runner was a giant and he was small.
he held up a sign that said
"well you always wanted me to catch him...now what?"

it is so funny i saw this question b/c my boss and i were talking about this same thing other day at work. i wish he could catch him one time then let him go and start over again.
