Absolutely!
He was one of the game's top players for about 10 years. That alone practically guarantees enshrinement. For many years he was a joy to watch with his winning smile and youthful exuberance, although he did become kinda grumpy after leaving Seattle. However, when debating whether someone belongs in the HOF, the issue of attitude is irrelevant.

He could have retired after leaving Seattle and would have made the Hall of Fame. Easily the best player in baseball for 5-7 years during the 90's. Clean reputation, never even mentioned during steroid discussions. Even when he left Seattle everyone still loved him becuase he was not doing it for selfish reasons. Add to this the fact that he had one of the most beatiful swings in baseball history and early in his career no one could touch him defensively. Griffey and Edgar Martinez also saved baseball in Seattle. He even had a bit of a resurgence over the past couple of years but the injured hamstrings and broken bones have haunted him. These types of injuries are part of the game though unless you are extremely lucky or take steroids like Bonds. 500+ home runs, a decent batting average (.291), and the flawless reputation makes him a lock especially when baseball wants to promote genuinely good people.

Yes he will make it into the Hall of Fame. It's obvious by comparing his body at the beggining of his career to right now that he didn't use steroids or even much weight training. He used his natural talents, great bat speed, and that sweet swing to hit all of those homeruns. I think this fact will be huge in the voters minds and he'll easily get in on the first ballot. In my opinion guys like McGwire, Sosa, and Palmeiro will never be voted in and rightfully so. Bonds will have a chance since he was a great player even before he muscled up but I doubt he'll get in on the first ballot.

He could quit today and would still be a first ballot hall of famer. Before his string of injuries he was poised to break all the records, not to mention that he WAS baseball during the 90's...everyone had his games, his posters, etc. Everyone was a Griffey fan. No question, same him a spot in Cooperstown.

I think he will be elected, wheather he does great the next few years or not. He was the second youngest player to reach 400 homeruns, and will continue to do well, if he stays healthy. He's a fast runner and a good fielder. I think he will be elected to the Hall of Fame the second time he is able to.

Yes, if he retire right now he would be elected into the hall of fame. He is already a member of the top 100 ball players of all time.

Yes. First ballot as well. Not only did he save the Mariners and was the face of baseball in the 90s, but many contend that he saved baseball period following the strike. Plus, many of his stats are superior to hall of famers who are lready in there. I just hope he'll hit 600 home runs to seal the deal.

He will. He has over 500 home runs. His ticket is already punched for the Hall of Fame.

Yes because he is one of the best overall players to play the game over his career and has put up a lot of great seasons. He is also a credit to the game as he always performs at the highest level and without resorting to cheating as some have.
