First it was the African Americans, and now it is the Mexicans and South Americans... although politicians say they don't want them they still like the cheap labour...

I'm sorry if the way my words were chosen inflamed some of you. But the fact of the matter is America could stop illegal immigration if it wanted to, but it is benefiting from it and they are living in horrible standards doing the lowest levels of jobs in utter fear.

So even though it is not technically "forced labour" it is still tolerated by the people at some level as they like cheap labour which is comparable to the concept of Slavery.

It is apparent that slavery is an inevitable part of the human condition.

Knock off the cool aid, Street!! First, when slavery existed in America, it was a semi-accepted institution world wide. In 1776 7% of the people in Massachusetts were under some sort of bonded servitude, and it wasn't a secret. And whether you noticed or not, the Emancipation Proclamation was issued in 1863. Second, if you believe that Mexicans and South Americans are being enslaved, you must have missed all the talk about us trying to un-enslave them. And whether you noticed this or not also, THEY are paying for the privilege!! We haven't bought a one in 144 years!! Don't try so hard to run America down. If you don't like it here, try Nigeria or Venezuela.

Do you understand what slavery is?

First, slavery has been a condition throughout human history. It sucks. We're harldly unique in having been a slave-holding culture at one point in our history - A period that ended over 100 years ago.

Second, the US doesn't enslave anyone.

Illegal immigrants are HARDLY slaves - they ARE criminals. You can call them slaves when we openly keep people chained, don't pay them, provide them with medical care, education, or food, and when we openly hunt them down to make more slaves.

Try reading a dictionary sometime.

As has been pointed out, there are a number of nations currently practicing real slavery - China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Iran - a lot of Communist and Islamic nations, interestingly enough.

EDIT: It's only comparable to the concept of slavery in that both slaves and illegal immigrants do work.
* Illegals are paid. Slaves are not.
* Illegals choose to sneak through a guarded border and work - sending the money they earn out of our economy and into another nation's. Slaves try to sneak AWAY from the work they are FORCED to do.
* Illegals are given free health care (I worked in a hospital for nearly a decade - They would come in, get treated, and leave - we'd have no way to collect. Cost us millions out of the ED every year). Slaves got pretty much nothing.
* Illegals have basic human rights. Slaves had none.

A bit clearer for you now?

Slavery is forced labor. Do not compare the struggles of the African American community to that of the Hispanics.
Hispanics come to this country of their own free will, they have the freedom to choose or reject employment, they have the right to choose or reject sex and they are not treated like property. The African Americans came to the U.S. as real slaves. They had no rights at all. They could be beaten, raped, tortured and worked to death legally. They had no rights.
To compare the Mexicans to African Americans is insulting and racist. When the hispanics have suffered 300 years of slavery and 100 years of Jim Crow laws and lynching, then they can begin to complain. Until then do not make light of the African American struggle.

China is better at enslavement than any other nation on Earth. Check the label Made In China. Second largest economy in the world yet the per capita earnings are in the low 20-something percentile. However, the private corporation that owns American monetary policy (see Federal Reserve) combined with the Infernal Revenue Dis-service do an incredible con job on the citizens gullible enough to play their game. I'm filing another zero income tax return this year. Thanks for paying your taxes!

This type of thing is not exclusive to America; it has been done throughout the centuries. The Mexicans and South Americans are not slaves, they work for a wage. Whatever they make here far exceeds what they would have made at home. Plus we didn't go drag them over the border, they are risking their lives to come here.

The illegal immigrants choose to come to the US to escape the bad conditions and lack of opportunities in their homelands. I visited Mexico almost 16 years ago, and I remember seeing street children selling chewing gum on the streets when they should have been in school and riding past the slums of Mexico City, which reeked of raw sewage. Of course, in the US, they often work for s**t wages, but I promise that the conditions they live in here can't be much worse than those at home.

Slavery was legal in the UK until the early 19th century. In fact slavery in what is now USA was instituted well before the USA was formed. Slavery existed in Russia until the 19th century also and the Spaniards bought slaves from African and Arab dealers for their colonies in the Americas.

Isn't it ironic that hundreds of thousands of Americans died to free the slaves?....isn't it ironic that America has liberated more people throughout the world then any other country in history?..isn't it ironic that whenever there is a disaster in the world its the US that is there with help, both government help and private or religious (usually Christian)....what a rotten country huh???....would you be happier if we round all the Mexicans and south Americans up and deported them??.....you'd cry about that wouldn't you.....

It's the corrupt construction companies who are enslaving the south Americans, not America. They are the abusers. Do not hate America for this issue.
