Was it any less dumb to announce the surge than to announce a withdrawal, Doesn't that type of information just let the insurgents simply lay low,and wait it out,I mean after all,they live there and without showing a violent side, the people in charge of security wouldn't know a good from a bad guy,They've got nothing but time on their side,and they know it...( we're talking a thousand plus year hatred)

It is President Jalal Talabani who had a "heart attack" not Prime Minister al-Maliki.

It may be a ploy to avoid the heat over the ineffective operation of the Iraq military venture. Al Sadr will end up on a slab like other radicals but it may take awhile. Hopefully the Congress will not force us into another defeat like Nam.

I always truly hate to say this, but that is true that the surge will be insignificant and will fail. It has in the past, and now with the violence worse than ever, it can't work this time either.

Looks like there will be more dead muslims, mostly victims of other muslims who will blame Israel and the USA for muslims murdering each other like they have been doing since muhammad started it all. Anyone who says islam is peaceful has either been fooled or is lying. Wake up and smell the jihad.
