I'm going to school to be an elementary teacher. How can I see what universities are good for my major?

I live in California and right now I would prefer to stay in California

For starters, ask some of your teachers where they got their degrees. Ask them if they'd recommend that school for you and why or why not. Even the high school teachers could tell you their opinion of the education program and whether it would be good for elementary education.

Do some research about schools that have education programs and that you are considering. Come up with two or three questions that you can ask and then go visit each school and try to talk with faculty in the education program. Good luck!
