Hubby and I were planning on putting a dimmer switch in our bedroom, bet we weren't sure if you could put one in if you've got a 3-way circuit. Does anyone know if you can?? Thanks in advance!!

You bet you can. Just go to your local Home Depot and tell them you want a three way dimmer!

Do you mean in the same box or on the same circuit? You can have a dimmer on each side of a three way switch in a box as long as they all do different things. If you mean to control the same light or lights, then no. You need to install 3 and 4 way dimmer switches. Very common now days.

yes you can. the decision to make is: do you want to be able to dim the lights at both locations.
if you don't any standard 3way dimmer will do. you will have a dimmer in one location and a regular 3way switch in the other.
if you want to dim at both locations you need an electronic 3 way dimmer. the maestro series from lutron is a nice choice

3 way dimmer switches are available at any home improvement or hardware stores and can be either rotary (twist to turn on) or slide to change intensity, dimmers are not rcomended for florescent lighting, special dimmers are available for fams or motors, dimmer switches are usually rated for 600 watts or less

Sure you can. Look at this diagram. http://web.extension.uiuc.edu/mclean/downloads/2497.pdf

Put your dimmer before switch 1, or after switch 2, and it should work.
