reset the little guy.
toggle the hold switch to the left and then to the right and leave it there.
Now press the center button and the menu button together for 6-8 seconds and it will restart.
Your good to go now.

this has happeed to me a couple times...
try plugging it back into your computer for starters.
if that doesn't work, try restoring it from the computer (this will erase all your songs from the ipod, just so ya know)
if that doesnt work, go to settings, main menu, sleep. that'll make it so there is a button in the main menu you can press so it will "turn off"
if none of that works, I really can't help you, try emailing apple or somthing.
best of luck!

I think i can....
Ok, this happend to my sister once opon a time, Did you bang it somewhere or drop it? I think the nano freezes when it gets dameged, i mean Look at how many gigs is in that little thing.
Your only option is to wait for the battery to go out, or go to circuit city, best buy ETC.
Hope it helps.

you hold down menu.
if that doesnt work then go to the apple site and send them a message.
dont take it back to the store theres nothing they can do.
apple will replace you with a new ipod completely free.

it may desire to be that by way of fact your ipod had no battery it stored getting battery and then reducing out back. Or if no longer then perchance there's a project including your USB or itunes. i reccomend you uninstall itunes and reinstall.
