I see Che-tees everywhere now. Mostly on poor illiterate/ignorant immigrents but not so infrequently on beatnick-types.

The "heroic" visage of Che appears to have a primal ressonace, something far beyond rational thinking or debate over just governace. The Romans were the first to capitalize on this "imagery-over substance" phenomena in the human animal. Its very powerful, and as the Che-phenomena shows, is far from being vetted out of the human genome.

Who was Che? Well, his story is as old as the sun. A guy who had it all figured out in his teens. He sold-out to communism as a teenager, because, well...he had it allll figured out. The world was X and the solution was Y. Throw in his medical studies as a teenager, and wow, you have the makings of a hero.

Communism and Socialism rely heavely on symbolism. Who can forget the heroci Lenin and Stalin pictures and statues that are still being torn down. Stalin understood the power of this symbolism over the herd...

They say that people love a good-looking underdog.

They say that people don't care that he was a murdering evil SOB.

Like most of Liberalism, FACTS really have little or nothing to do with their world-view. What is much more important is how things SHOULD be or what FEELS right. And you know, Che just FEELS right.

Hey my buddy still has his Adolph Hitler World Tour teeshirt from when we were kids.

With Herr Hitler with Herr's. Himler, Goebels, etc on backup all holding Bass Guitars and drumsticks and such.

It's not all that funny until you see the "concert dates"

Munich 192*, cancelled
Berlin, 1936
Vienna 1938
Warsaw, 1939
Paris, 1939
Moscow, 1941
Stalingrad, 1942 (Cancelled)
London, 1942 (Canceled)
New York, 1945 (Cancelled)
Washington, 1946 (Cancelled)

In the last 20 years I'd have to say he's not even a closet fascist,
but after World History 102, he thought it was a funny shirt...that's all.
In bad taste....Absolutely.
Insensitive...Of course.
Supportive of the Axis powers....not so much.

Same thing goes for Che,
So what does a teeshirt which has Che on it "mean"

Is it some "rebel" dude in relief - yes.
Iconic - Probably.
Supportive of the Red/Pink Revolution in Central and South America - Nope.
