Standard form = Ax + By = C

I always start by finding the slope/intercept form.

1.) Slope = rise / run = 4 / 2 = 2
intercept = (-1,-7) + (1,2) = (0, -5) = -5
slope intercept form: y = mx + b = 2x - 5
Now, move y to the other side:
y = 2x - 5
0 = 2x - y - 5
2x - y = 5 (solution)

You can use the same method for #2.
