Their problem is they are full of their narcissistic self adoration they think they are too good for the show, it's only when they have left they realise they were nothing more than a bit player.

I quess it would depend on what soap you watch. I watch Days and the Phoenix ( Stephano) has been killed off so many times I can't keep tract. I know years ago when a soap star leaves they sometimes went to another soap. Unlike Santa Barbara those starts just seemed to fall off the earth for EX: EVE I think her names was. She was the blonde. Now that I am having to think I don't believe that was her name maybe Eden. Oh not sure, I think it was eden

Jude Law, made his name in eastenders now hes an A lister in Hollywood (dont know why).
Martine Mccutchin (or however you spell it) was in Love actually.
Some soap stars just tranfer to other soaps, like becca out of hollyoakes is moving to the Bill, Sinbad out of brookside went to the Royal and is now joining Coronation Street. Patsy Kensit is moving from emmerdale to the bill. Etcetra Etcetra.. or they could bring dead soapsters back with a little 'ello princess' then kill them again because they get caught slagging off costars on a webcam in their dressing room.

Not always true. Whenever Madge needed time out she used to go and visit Scott and Charlene in Brisbane!
And Kathy Beale was mentioned from time to time as living in South Africa (or wherever the random place she went to). But I must say I would love to hear Pat Butcher talking about evil Janine. I loved Janine!!

They may have been lucky and earned enough not to need to work again. A lot go and do other acting work in theatre. With 1000's of channels in dozens of countries it must be pretty hard even for TV'holics to watch it all.

They leave one soap and move on to the next. they spend too much time working if they watched the TV they would see the only thing on are OTHER soaps. Drama has gone... Brink back CRACKER.
