Try unplugging it, then plugging it back in. Kind of like a reset button.

Maytag gave owners till May 02 of 2005 to base their claims, but
on another website people are still frusterated over Maytags cruddy services.

I'd prefer trying to contact their customer support number to see if they can offer any assistance, and if not, perhapes looking into purchasing another washer.

You might try unplugging it. Every time our Neptune washer has acted up we had to get a repair man out and write a (big) check.
