When I stayed there, I stayed in the preferred room so I would be closer. But, having walked around the resort, it is easy to tell that if you get put in the back, it can be a really long walk.
To give you a better idea there is 2112 rooms at Caribbean Beach, which are located around the 45 acre lake. If you are in the rooms furthest from the main building, you are looking at a 15 minute walk or so. Which, really isn't that bad, but after a long day at the parks, or if you just want to grab something quick to eat, then it can be less than convenient.

There are 2112 rooms in this resort. Each area has its own pool. The main pool has a water fall and water slide. This is an EPCOT resort but it is very close to Disney-MGM Studios. One of this resorts features includes a 45 acre lake, Barefoot Bay.

Take it you like your grub then, you ought to get together with the 13stone 7lb barrell above!! If its far you could always get a bag of crisps to eat on the way.
