I'm sorry, I can't let this go. It is "here" not "hear". I do have an open mind. I don't really have a political party, I vote for who has the values that I look for. The Prez sure has NO values that I look for in the leader of our great country. He changes his mind about things all of the time. Who remembers seeing him on that battleship soon after the war started with that "Mission Accomplished" banner hanging behind him? How many years ago was that?!?!

Firstly, i don't think there's a rule that only Americans can post on this site. It is the *World-Wide* Web, remember.
Secondly, many Americans are not fans of GWB. More than half of Americans voted against him in 2000, and near as dammit half in 2004. So clearly there's a lot of disagreement within the US about the current administration.
Thirdly, is it "shameful to your country" to hear such opinions voiced? I would have thought it rather a triumph of free speech. Being patriotic doesn't mean you always have to agree withwhat your country does, or think that its rulers get things right: indeed, a true patriot will never be silent when they think their country is making a grave mistake, or betraying its core principles.
Fourthly, even if one does think one's country is going to the dogs, is that a reason to decamp and leave? Rather stay at home and try to fix things!
Finally, I fear that the conservative strategy of claiming that liberals are "shameful" or unpatriotic is a cynical means of trying to stifle debate and shut down open criticism of the US government. this, it seems to me, is the biggest betrayal of US ideals of all.

It is the citizen's prerogative and duty to correct the errors made by his country. If everybody just moved whenever a government screwed up, this would be a world where nobody stayed in one place after the first day a new government formed. They all screw up, and we can either go along with it and stuff it or speak out and attempt to influence the course of events.
Those who use their right to speak out only to tell others to stuff it are the ones who should reexamine their priorities....

So they either have to blindly praise the prez or they're illegals and hence should be thrown out.. hmm...
I think you would be happy living in a Middle Eastern country with that attitude of yours.
Over there, they just throw you in jail. Head to the airport bud.

Well, I certainly am a legal citizen.
I believe the Neo-con insanity will go away shortly.
Otherwise, yes, I would consider moving.
There is a lot to love about this country - its current
administration is not on that list.
