Choice!

I would like to share my favorite quote:

“Watch your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your habits, they become character. Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.”

Your thoughts determine your destiny, what you decide in your life bring you to your destiny. However, not many people recognize this and very few people can change their lives by changing their thoughts. It is your choice to feel happy or sad today, it is your choice to be positive or negative, it is your choice to be yourself or someone else. Chances do happen in life, but the way you handle may be different from others and it brings to a different destiny.

I've been wondering whether Newton's Third Law of motion - that every action has an equal and opposit reaction - gets rid of free will. Because if it's true, then surely every 'choice' we make is only really a product of the situations in which we make them, or simply random, like deciding to get married after tossing a coin. But I think that there just must be some kind of choice going on, since I have a rationality with which I can answer this question, surely that would affect my ability to make a decision?

It really depends on what perspective you look at your destiny. Some say destiny is predestined, and most people will believe in Karma, and fate. Other people are sure that we make ourselves as we go along. I personally believe that we have something that are destined in us, like our bio-psycho make-up. You will not change the colour of your eyes, or your IQ. You can train your IQ and you can wear coloured contacts.

You can choose to study a lot and become a doctor, or you can decide to accommodate into an easy job.... Destiny is in you, but you have to work with it to make it happen.

Destiny and chance are effectively the same thing. Unless, of course you buy "Spooky Bullshit Monthly". Then they actually have PERSONALITIES. Unlike the people who believe in them, hehe! And choice doesn't exist either! Unless you are monkey-spanking French existentialist. But as we don't choose our own thoughts they can't be right, either? If you want a really good "factor de influenza" try genetics. They really do kick-*** when it comes to deciding just how horrible life will be for you.
PS: Being a chav doesn't exactly help, either!

both, however, choice builds the paths we follow that ultimately lead to our destiny. Chance, little or big, may influence our destiny but our choice to profit from that chance is up to us.

Choice has more influence than Chance because Choice is a DECISION, whereas Chance is far more random.

Your destiny is to die, that is the only thing on this planet that is unavoidable. Chance or choice determine time and place.

choice has more influence, chance may never happen if you mean luck. so you have to make the right choices to make it happen. As they say jobs do not find you - you have to go out of the house and find the job. Simply put but i think it goes for everything else you want out of life .

Winners believe it is choice.

Losers rely on chance.

Look at those people who have made a success of their lives - have they been lucky, or have they seized opportunity and worked for what they have?
